Apple TV+: For All Mankind Trailer

Apple’s New Streaming Service Will Air For All Mankind in November!

So this looks pretty neat:

Of course, the trailer doesn’t really tell you a whole lot, but the gist is this:

Apple has a new streaming service (because everybody has a new streaming service now), and they’re launching a new space series that looks pretty compelling.

Right off the bat, it looks like this is an alternative history story in which the USSR put the first man on the moon instead of the USA. But according to IMDb, “The series explores what would have happened if the global space race had never ended.”

Here’s What We Know So Far:

  • You’re going to have to subscribe to Apple TV+ to watch the show, which will run you $5 a month. That’s surprisingly affordable for Apple anything, however, and it’s cheaper than HBO.
    • It will also only be available on a limited number of Apple-friendly platforms.
  • The series was created by Ronald D. Moore, who was behind Battlestar Galactica.
  • There are ten episodes in the first season.
  • It will be released in November.

The Final Word:

With so many excellent options for space and sci-fi entertainment out there, each of these streaming-services-turned-production-companies clamors to find their next big hit for that audience. Netflix crushed it with Stranger Things. Amazon Prime has The Man in the High Castle. Hulu had Castle Rock. And Disney probably has it easiest of all with Star Wars: The Mandalorian. It remains to be seen, then, whether Apple can do as good a job.
